Pet insurance provided by Pinnacle Insurance Ltd.
Defaqto 5* expert rated, applies to cover over £4000, Time Limited and Rabbit cover excluded.
Dental cover for cats and dogs
Dental care for pets can be expensive. Unlike humans, pets often need to be put to sleep during dental procedures to prevent undue stress and stop them from biting or scratching vets. This means they need to be closely monitored before, during and after the procedure – all of which costs money.
Our pet insurance with dental coverage could help cover the cost of dog, rabbit and cat dental care. With pet insurance that covers dental treatment, you’re not left out of pocket if your four-legged friend needs work on their pearly-whites.
If you choose Sainsbury’s Money for your pet insurance, you’ll get:
- Access to the 24/7 Sainsbury’s Money Vet Assistance helpline
- Cover at home or if your pet is on holiday with you
- Guaranteed discount for Nectar members*
Cat dental care cover
Cat dental care can help treat problems like cat gingivitis, toothache, and damage to teeth or gums due to accidents or injury. Keeping your cat healthy and happy is important, but dental treatment for cats can be costly. Cat dental insurance cover with Sainsbury’s Pet insurance comes as standard and could help you cover the cost of these treatments and other cat dentistry.
Dog dental insurance
Taking care of your dog’s teeth is vital to make sure you have a healthy, happy companion. Dental problems can sometimes lead to behavioural issues in dogs, as animals react to pain differently than humans.
Sudden changes to your dog’s behaviour may be a sign that they’re experiencing tooth pain. But dog dental prices in the UK can be expensive. Dog insurance with dental cover could help to fund the cost of dental treatments for your dog, so you never need to worry about your canine’s canines.

Pet dental insurance costs we don’t cover
Our dental cover pays for most things to keep your pet’s teeth strong and their gums healthy. But there are one or two things we don’t cover.
We won’t cover:
- Conditions you knew about before buying your insurance
- Illnesses and symptoms occurring within 14 days of your policy start date or accidents occurring within 3 days
- Dental treatment if your pet hasn’t had regular check-ups
- Dental crowns, root canals or fillings
There are some breeds that we won't cover under our £10,000 limit which you can find details of in our FAQ section. Please note that we won't cover any pre-existing conditions and that terms, conditions, excesses and exclusions and limitations apply. You can find out more about the terms of our cover in our policy documents.
