Provided by Pinnacle Insurance Ltd.

Keep your pet happy and healthy

All pets have their moments. But there are times when your cat or dog’s bad behaviour could be more than just a phase – and could be linked to a behavioural issue or disorder.

If that time comes, and your vet recommends a course of therapy or treatment, we’ll be there to help cover the cost.

What you’re covered for

What behavioural issues are covered?

When you take out pet insurance with us, we’ll cover the cost of any behavioural therapy or treatment recommended by your vet.

The most common pet behaviour problems could be:

  • Aggression

  • Anxiety and separation anxiety

  • Chewing and destructive behaviour

  • Toileting problems

  • Phobia or fear of loud noises

What we won’t cover

Any pre-existing condition, special conditions or exclusions that apply to vet fees cover and behavioural therapy cover will be detailed in your Certificate of Insurance.

But, as a guide, we won’t cover the cost of:

  • Any damage to your home caused by your pet’s behavioural problems
  • A behavioural problem which could have been prevented by training, spaying or neutering

There are some breeds that we won't cover under our £10,000 limit which you can find details of in our FAQ section. Please note that we won't cover any pre-existing conditions and that terms, conditions, excesses and exclusions and limitations apply. You can find out more about the terms of our cover in our policy documents.

Who can carry out behavioural therapy?

If you’ve noticed your pet’s behaviour changing, the first thing to do is speak to your vet. Behavioural problems such as aggression and anxiety could be linked to serious, underlying health problems.
